AS400 – Remote Address cannot be resolved

If you are not able to connect to the AS400 and getting error “Remote address could not be resolved” the issue may be that the hostname is incorrect.

To verify you’ve got the correct hostname for the AS400 “QFRED2” follow the steps below.

Click on Configure.

In the System Name field make sure that the correct name is present. In the above image, you can see that the name is my session name. This will not work.

Type QFRED2 into the System name field. Click OK. This will reload the session and it will then connect to the AS400.
