Dear Colleagues,
As part of incremental cybersecurity, enhancements and MGC management’s efforts to mitigate the risk associated with malicious hackers and phishing attempt the following [External_Email] subject banner will be implemented to the email system.
The [External_Email] Subject Banner is a service that will adjust the email subject to show the email came from an external source. The current list of conditions include:
- All External Email – The service will generate a banner for all emails sent from outside Manitoulin Group of Companies’ email system.
- External Spoofed Email – The service will generate a banner for an email sent from outside Manitoulin Group of Companies’ email system and claim to be from inside Manitoulin Group of Companies email system.
Modified subject to include [External_Email]:
These banners will appear on all emails originating from outside of Manitoulin Group of Companies. They will warn all staff to be cautious when opening external emails and attachments that could be potentially malicious.
When will this service be available?
This service will be available 24 hours from now on April 28 2021.
